ELIZABETH HARDER
Eliabeth Harder was born in 1885 in Alexandertal, South Russia. From there her parents, Bernhard and Gertrude Penner, moved to the province of Charkow. At 19 years of age she accepted Christ as her Saviour and joined the GC Church. Her marriage to Peter Harder lasted for almost 40 years. In 1914 the family moved to the Crimea and in 1925 to Coaldale, Alta.; where they joined the MB Church.
Mr. Penner died in 1946, and Elizabeth remained a widow for 26 years, the last 20 years of which were full of illness and suffering. During the final 7 years she was completely bedridden. In spite of her suffering, she prayed a great deal for her family. She died on January 20 at the age of 87 years.
She is survived by 5 sons, 3 daughters, 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Coaldale MB Church, with Rev. Henry Nikkel officiating.
