Steinbach, Manitoba. &#8212; Funeral services were held at the Steinbach Mennonite Church on June 17 for Ernest Warkentin, 20, who drowned in an unusual mishap at the Sandi-Side Camp near Ste. Anne on June 10.

The youth and a companion preparing to leave the swimming beach after a swim, went to the water to wash sand from their feet when Ernest suddenly slipped into a deep pool and disappeared. Several youths dived to the bottom of the pool in an effort to find him, but without avail. the body was recovered by pulling a hay rake through the pool.

Surviving are the mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Warkentin, four sisters and one brother.

20-Year-Old Youth Drowns

Steinbach, Manitoba. — Funeral services were held at the Steinbach Mennonite Church on June 17 for Ernest Warkentin, 20, who drowned in an unusual mishap at the Sandi-Side Camp near Ste. Anne on June 10.

The youth and a companion preparing to leave the swimming beach after a swim, went to the water to wash sand from their feet when Ernest suddenly slipped into a deep pool and disappeared.
