PETER J. PLETT

Peter J. Plett was born in 1900 at Kalton, Samara, in Russia, and died in Coaldale on May 27, at the age of 71.

He was saved at the age of 15 and committed his life to Jesus Christ. Later he was baptized and joined the Mennonite Brethren Church, where he sought to glorify his Lord until the end.

He was married to Sara Wiebe in 1920, which union was blessed with 5 sons and 7 daughters. In 1929 the family moved to Manitoba, where he farmed until 1937 and then moved to Gem, where they resided until 1966, at which time they moved to Coaldale.

Funeral services were conducted in the Coaldale MB Church on May 31.

He is survived by his wife Sara and five sons: Pete, Cornie, Jake, George, and Henry; seven daughters: Mrs. Sarah Leduc, Mrs. Susie Thiessen, Mrs. Mary Thiessen, Mrs. Anne Willms, Mrs. Tina Siemens , Mrs. Olga Goossen, and Mrs. Martha Penner, as well as 30 grandchildren, a brother, and a host of relatives and friends.

He will be remembered by his loved ones for his prayers on their behalf and for his sincere desire to see his entire family walk in the ways of the Lord. They will miss him, but not as those who mourn without hope, for they know that he is with his Saviour, whom he loved dearly.
