PETER AND AGATHA KOSLOWSKY
A short span of six weeks separated the deaths of Peter Koslowsky on September 23, 1971, and his wife Agatha, on November 5, 1971. They were both of Niverville, Manitoba.
Peter Koslowsky was born in Einlage, in the Ukraine, on September 24, 1885, the son of Peter and Agatha Krause Koslowsky. On May 8, 1911 he married Agatha Kasper, with whom he shared good and hard times for more than 60 years. To their marriage were born seven children, two of whom predeceased them in infancy.
In the early years of their marriage he worked as a millwright in a factory in Russia. In 1926 he and his wife and three children immigrated to Canada and settled near Niverville. They farmed there for twenty years and had two more children born to them. After retiring to the village in 1947, he became active in village affairs and helped to organize the local credit union. He served as director of the credit union for a year and as manager for 12. He accepted Christ as his Saviour in his youth and served his Lord to the end. He lived a rich and full life, enjoying good health nearly to the end. He died suddenly while at his home on September 23.
Agatha Koslowsky was born in the Ukraine on November 17, 1890, to Heinrich and Helena Kasper. When she was ten her father passed away and she was adopted into the Abram Klassen family. She accepted Christ as her Saviour in her youth and was always concerned to lead a life pleasing in his sight, and always ready to witness for him. She had faith that God would see her through even the valley of death, a hope which sustained her when she passed from this life on November 5.
Mourning the passing of their parents are three daughters, Mary and her husband Isaak Braun, Winnipeg; Helen, who lived with her parents; Annie and her husband Henry Isaak, Niverville; two sons, Peter and his wife Betty, Winnipeg; John and his wife Helen, Niverville; 22 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
