MRS. SARA TOEWS

Sara Toews was born October 12, 1888 in Franztal, Molotschna, in southern Russia, to Heinrrch and Tina (nee Buller) Voth. She was the ninth of eleven children, five sisters and five brothers. Her family moved to Orenburg when she was eight years old. Ten years later she moved back to Franztai to live with an uncle, Johann Voth. She was baptized upon her confession of faith in 1907 at the age of 19, in Alexanderthal, and joined the Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1910, at the age of 22, she came to Orloff where she met and married Wilhelm Toews in 1912. They lived in Orloff until 1926 when they emigrated to Canada. She lived in Leamington, Ontario until her death on March 14.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Peter J. (Betty) Dick, of Leamington; two sons, William of Windsor and Ernest of Peterborough; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She had reached an age of 83 years.
