Retired Farmer Dies of Injuries

Metamora, Ill. — Funeral services were held at the Calvary Mennonite Church in Washington Dec 19 for August Naffziger, 83, who died in a Peoria hospital after suffering injuries in a fall down the stairs at his home in Washington.

A native of the Deer Creek community, he operated a farm between Deer Creek and Washington for 50 years until his retirement in 1950.

Surviving are his wife, the former Carrie Garber and three sons.
