MRS. EMELIA LAUTERMILCH

On Monday, January 5, 1970, it pleased the Lord to take unto himself the late Mrs. John Lautermilch .

She was born on May 14, 1883 to Mr. and Mrs. Karl Biffart of Odessa, Russia. In October 1899 she was united in marriage to the late Mr. John Lautermilch, a union that lasted 66 years .

In 1902 they immigrated to America, settling in North Dakota, at McClusky, where they farmed for eight years. It was here that they both found the Lord Jesus as their Savior and were baptized and received into the Mennonite Brethren Church .

In the spring of 1910 they came to Canada, taking up a homestead on a farm in the community that is now called Woodrow. In 1945 they retired to Medicine Hart where they spent the rest of their lives.

Mrs. Lautermilch was predeceased by her parents, husband, two brothers, three half-brothers, three half-sisters, and three children who died in infancy.

She leaves to mourn her parting, one half-sister in California, eight sons and their families: Ed of Swift Current, Albert and Andrew of Medicine Hat, Emil of Regina, Herbert of Forgan, and Milton, John and Robert of Woodrow; four daughters and their families: (Teana) Mrs. Rueben Engle of Medicine HM, (Emma) Mrs. Ernest Wenzel of Morse, (Mabel) Mrs. Rudolph Bied and (Elsie ) Mrs. Ewalt Engel of Woodrow, 28 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

The funeral took place on January 7, in the Crestwood MB Church of Medicine Hat, Rev. Art Martens officiating.
