farming near Winkler. In 1951 the family | |||
moved to Morden where he operated a | |||
grocery business for several years. Although in failing health for a number of | |||
y ea rs, he w as able to work up to the | |||
time of his death on December 24. | |||
Left to mourn his passing are his w ife, | |||
Aganetha; four sons, John, George and | |||
Harvey of Winnipeg, and Abe of Edmonton; one daughter, Esther, of Oakville, | |||
Ont.; 18 grandchildren and 11 great | |||
grandchildren; as well as three brothers | |||
and three s'isters. | |||
The fun eral was held in the Morden | |||
Church with Rev. Walter Janzen and | |||
Rev. Frank H. Friesen ministering, | |||

GEORGE R. WIEBE
George R. Wiebe of Morden, Man., son of the late Gerhard G. and Anna Wiebe of Winkler, Man., was born on August 15, 1892. He w as married to Aganetha Toews in 1917. At the age of 38 he was baptized upon his confession of faith by Rev. Henry Voth and received as a member of the Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church.
He taught in rural Saskatchewan and Manitoba until 1939 when he turned to farming near Winkler. In 1951 the family moved to Morden where he operated a grocery business for several years. Although in failing health for a number of y ea rs, he w as able to work up to the time of his death on December 24.
Left to mourn his passing are his w ife, Aganetha; four sons, John, George and Harvey of Winnipeg, and Abe of Edmonton; one daughter, Esther, of Oakville, Ont.; 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; as well as three brothers and three s'isters.
