'''Joseph Bennett, Sr.,''' was born in Vandalia, Ill., June 6, 1847. He passed away at his home in Shelbina, Mo., January 22, 1935. Age 87 years, 7 months, 16 days. He spent three years of his life in the Civil War. Surviving him are, his aged widow and one son, Joseph, Jr., who lives at home. Two sons and one daughter preceded him in death. There are also 8 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren. Funeral services January 25, 1935. Rev. Wm. B. Weaver of Danvers, Ill., had charge of the funeral service.

Joseph Bennett, Sr., was born in Vandalia, Ill., June 6, 1847. He passed away at his home in Shelbina, Mo., January 22, 1935. Age 87 years, 7 months, 16 days. He spent three years of his life in the Civil War. Surviving him are, his aged widow and one son, Joseph, Jr., who lives at home. Two sons and one daughter preceded him in death.
