Wernahrd Schweizer was born on Nov. 2, 1840, in Oberdorf, Canton Basselland, Switzerland, and died at the Putman [''sic'' Putnam] County Home near Ottawa, Ohio, on January 3, 1928, at the age of eighty-seven years, two months and one day. He came to America in his early twenties, and has lived in the community around Pandora most of his life.

The departed was married three times. His first marriage took place on Feb. 15, 1871, to Katharine Kintle. This marriage was blessed with five children of whom three are living: George, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Martin, of Mt. Cory; and Mary E. Waite, of Cincinnati. The children that preceded in death were: John who died in 1873, and William, who died in 1878. Both were less than a year old when they died. His companion departed from this life in 1889.

Later he was united in marriage to Lucy Bardette with whom he lived about six years, when she passed away. His third marriage was with Mrs. Hardwick.

In April, 1923, he asked to be received as a member of the Grace Mennonite Church, and the congregation gladly complied with this request.

The departed is survived by his three children, four grandchildren, a sister, Sarah Studer, of Yakima, Wash., and a sister in Switzerland.

Funeral services were held from the grace church Friday afternoon, Jan. 6, and were in charge of his pastor Rev. J. M Regier. interment took place in Pandora cemetery. &#8212; Pandora (Ohio) Times.

Wernhard Schweizer

Wernahrd Schweizer was born on Nov. 2, 1840, in Oberdorf, Canton Basselland, Switzerland, and died at the Putman [sic Putnam] County Home near Ottawa, Ohio, on January 3, 1928, at the age of eighty-seven years, two months and one day. He came to America in his early twenties, and has lived in the community around Pandora most of his life.

The departed was married three times. His first marriage took place on Feb. 15, 1871, to Katharine Kintle.
