In 1901 he was married to Maria Dueck of Blumenheim. Eight children were born in this union, five sons and three daughters. One son predeceased him. In 1921 his wife died of typhoid. In the fall of 1921 he entered his second marriage with Katharina Dueck. They shared a happy life for 47 years, and this union added two more children to the family. In 1926 they emigrated to Canada. After three years on a farm near Manitou, Manitoba, they moved to the Boissevain district. On March 20, 1931, he was ordained a minister of that church. | ||
