● Mrs. Katharina Loewen, 94, died Monday afternoon at Schowalter Villa, Hesston, where she had been a resident since 1969. A private burial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at the Bethel College Church, of which she was a member. Rev. John Esau and Dr. H. A. Fast will officiate. Mrs. Loewen, the former Katharina Riesen was the widow of Peter C. Loewen. She lived in North Newton before entering Schowalter Villa. Survivors include three sons, Rev. Esko Loewen of North Newton, Roland and Bruno, both of Baytown, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Selma Linscheid of Schowalter Villa; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
