JOHN B. FREY

John B. Frey, son of Benjamin and Maria Wedel Frey, was born in the Greenfield community near Goessel, Kansas, on April 30, 1886. Father was baptized upon confession of his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, by Elder Peter Balzer of the Alexanderwohl Church in May 1901. When Tabor Church was organized in 1908 father became a member of this church and held membership till his death.

After his marriage to Sarah Unruh, November 2, 1906, they made their home in Marion County till 1915, when they moved to western Kansas. Later, three years were spent in Arizona, after which they returned to this vicinity in 1924.

There were eight children born to this union. They are Walter, Mrs. Elenor [sic Eleanore] Henry; Dave; Harold; Mrs. Viola Ward; Ewald, Kenneth and Dorothy. All are living but Dave who went to be with the Lord in 1935. Walter, Elenor [sic Eleanore], Harold and Viola all reside in southern California, while Ewald, Kenneth and Dorothy reside at home.

It was a great joy for mother to have two daughters and one son-in-law come from California to comfort her heart. All desired to come but their work would not permit.

Seven children, three grand-daughters, our mother, together with father's living sisters and brothers, Rev. Cornelius Frey, Henry Frey, Mrs. Henry Balzer, Mrs. John Becker, all of Newton, and Rev. J. B. Frey of Arizona, as well as a host of other relatives and friends, are left to mourn father's unexpected departure to be forever with the Lord.

We rejoice that the last year was the happiest year of all for father and that the Lord's call Home did not find him unprepared. Blessed is the memory of those that die in the Lord.

The Lord Jesus has become increasingly real and precious to us these days. Our hope and trust is in the Lord. Whatever lies ahead of joys or of sorrows — we can say with Job of old, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him." — Mrs. J. B. Frey and the children.

The family wished to express their thanks and appreciation to relatives and friends for the love and sympathy shown them during this time of bereavement.
