Pretty Prairie, Kans. — Peter W. Kaufman, 89, the last charter member of the First Mennonite church here, died at a Kingman hospital on March 12. Funeral services were held here Thursday morning at the A. J. Kaufman home and the local church, Dr. Howard G. Nyce officiating.

Mr. Kaufman came to this country from Russia with his parents in 1874. They lived at Pekin, Ill. for several years, and at Moundridge for 10 years, moving here in 1886. He had made his home here ever since.

He leaves five daughters, three sons, 21 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and two brothers, Chris and Andrew of Moundridge.

Last Charter Member Died at Age 89

Pretty Prairie, Kans. — Peter W. Kaufman, 89, the last charter member of the First Mennonite church here, died at a Kingman hospital on March 12. Funeral services were held here Thursday morning at the A. J. Kaufman home and the local church, Dr. Howard G. Nyce officiating.

Mr. Kaufman came to this country from Russia with his parents in 1874. They lived at Pekin, Ill. for several years, and at Moundridge for 10 years, moving here in 1886. He had made his home here ever since.

He leaves five daughters, three sons, 21 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and two brothers, Chris and Andrew of Moundridge.
