HENRY H. JANTZ

Henry H. Jantz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tobias Jantz, was born Feb. 20, 1877, in McPherson county, Kans.

Oct. 16, 1897, he was united in marriage to Carolina Buller. To this union were born four sons and three daughters.

In 1904 the family moved to Oklahoma, settling east of Goltry.

Feb. 10, 1895, he was baptized by Rev. John Ratzlaff and taken into the Zoar Mennonite church, where he remained a member until his death.

It was on May 12, 1940, when he had a stroke on the farm four miles east of Goltry.

About a year later he and his wife moved to Carrier, Okla., where they resided up to the present.

He never fully recovered, but in it all he took his affliction patiently and had a deep interest in spiritual things. He often expressed himself that he was happy in the Lord and longed to be at home in heaven.

His condition lately became worse and he passed away peaceable at 9:35 p. m., July 15, 1947, at the age of 70 years, four months and 25 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, four sons and three daughters: Clarence and Walter of Carrier, Okla.; Alfred, Goltry, Okla.; Mrs. Pearl Kenneth Barnard, Irving; Mrs. Dessie Ernest Edwards, all of Enid and Gloria Jean at home. Also 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; six brothers, Pete of Hesston, Kans., Isaac, Jonas, Jake, all of Galva, Kans., Fred in New Mexico, and Joe at Meno, Okla., survive.
