Wellman, Ia. — Funeral services were held January 17 at the East Union Mennonite Church for Barbara J. Miller, who passed away at her home in Kalona January 14 after a short illness. Burial was in the East Union Cemetery. Funeral services were conducted by Ed Shettler, J. L. Hershberger, and D. J. Fisher. | |||
Death was due to blood poisoning which started from an ear infection. She was 54 years, 1 month, and 26 days old. | |||
Her passing is mourned by her three sisters, Mary Ann Miller, Mrs. S. D. Yoder of Kalona and Mrs. Clements Miller of Goshen, Ind., and ten brothers, Ben, Enos, and Harvey of Kalona, John and David of LaGrange, Ind., Daniel of plain City, Ohio, Abner of Windom, Kans., Abe of Haven, Kans., Chris of Middleburry [''sic''], Ind., and Henry J. of Iowa City. | |||
In the year 1901, the John C. Miller family moved to Reno County, Kansas near Hutchinson, where they lived for 25 years. After the death of her parents she returned to the Kalona community. Here she followed her chosen profession, that of a practical nurse, until the day before she died. — Wellman Advance. | |||
