FORMER TEACHER DIES AT 83
Altona, Man. — A former teacher at the Mennonite Educational Institute here, Gerhard Loewen of Stuartburn, passed away at his home on June 2. he was 83 years of age.
Mr. Loewen came to this community from Russia in the early 1920's and was a teacher at the M. E. I. until 1926, when it was destroyed by fire. He taught at Gardenton for several years before his retirement.
He is survived by one son, Harry, and a daughter, Mrs. Cornelius Siemens, both of Altona.
