— Paul S. Hofer, 80 year old pioneer of Carpenter, S. D., passed away at his home there on Friday, Nov. 30.  Funeral services also took place there at the Bethel Mennonite church. Coming to America from Russia in 1879, Mr. Hofer and his parents were among the first members of the Mennonite community at Bridgewater, S. D., where they experienced many pioneer hardships.
