Jonas Metzler, 83, died Saturday, March 27, in his residence at 506 North Clark street, Nappanee, Ind. He was born Sept. 25, 1864, in Nappanee, and spent most of life there. His marriage to Lucinda Archer took place Jan. 21, 1889, in Warsaw.

He is survived by five sons, Ralph, Ray, Ren, Floyd and Daniel, all of Nappanee; four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Bigler and Mrs. Deltha Naylor, both of Nappanee, Mrs. Ida Neff of Elkhart, and Mrs. Bertha Stouder of Etna Green; two brothers, John of California and David of Nappanee; two step-brothers, Ira Stineman of Knoxville, Tenn., and Norman Stineman of Winnetka, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Strauss of Nappanee, Mrs. Fannie Hammer of Kokomo, and Mrs. Anna Myers of Amboy, Ind.; 39 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on March 30 at the First Mennonite church of Nappanee, where Mr. Metzler had been a member for 40 years. Rev. Jacob J. Enz officiated, and burial was made in the South Union cemetery.

JONAS METZLER

Jonas Metzler, 83, died Saturday, March 27, in his residence at 506 North Clark street, Nappanee, Ind. He was born Sept. 25, 1864, in Nappanee, and spent most of life there. His marriage to Lucinda Archer took place Jan. 21, 1889, in Warsaw.
