Winkler, Man. — Rev. Jacob B. Penner, 67, died hereon Tuesday, July 25, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held from the Mennonite Brethren church Friday, July 28. Rev. A. H. Unrau officiated. Other speakers included Rev. J. Wiens and Rev. A. A. Kroeker.

Rev. Penner was a well-known minister of the Mennonite Brethren church and until last year lived at Kronsgart, on the farm. He was now living in town. He was born in Russia, coming to Canada when quite young and atone time lived at Springfield. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Penner.

His first wife was Tina Dyck, who preceded him in death about 16 years ago. Fifteen years ago he married Elizabeth Enns, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Enns, who survives him. Also surviving are five children, Mrs. Diedrich Toews, Winkler; Mrs. F. Kehler, Morden; George, Jacob and Peter, all of Kronsgart. — Altona Echo.
