— John B. Frey passed away quietly and rather unexpectedly at his home at 1205 North High street last Sunday afternoon. He had been ill for some time, although his condition was not considered critical. He reached the age of 60 years, four months and 13 days. Funeral services were held at the Tabor church north of Newton, where he was a member and were largely attended. Besides his wife, Sarah Unruh Frey, he is survived by the following children: Walter Ervin Frey, Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. Eleanor Henry, and Mrs. Viola Ward, Huntington Park, Calif., Harold Frey, Glendale, Calif., Ewald Lee Frey, Kenneth Olin Frey and Aldina Dorothea Frey, of the family home. he also leaves brothers and sisters as follows: Henry Frey, Mrs. Henry Balzer, Mrs. John Becker, Rev. C. Frey all of Newton and Rev. J. B. Frey Carnville, Arizona.

JOHN B. FREY

John B. Frey, son of Benjamin and Maria Wedel Frey, was born in the Greenfield community near Goessel, Kansas, on April 30, 1886. Father was baptized upon confession of his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, by Elder Peter Balzer of the Alexanderwohl Church in May 1901. When Tabor Church was organized in 1908 father became a member of this church and held membership till his death.

After his marriage to Sarah Unruh, November 2, 1906, they made their home in Marion County till 1915, when they moved to western Kansas. Later, three years were spent in Arizona, after which they returned to this vicinity in 1924.

There were eight children born to this union. They are Walter, Mrs. Elenor [sic Eleanore] Henry; Dave; Harold; Mrs. Viola Ward; Ewald, Kenneth and Dorothy. All are living but Dave who went to be with the Lord in 1935. Walter, Elenor [sic Eleanore], Harold and Viola all reside in southern California, while Ewald, Kenneth and Dorothy reside at home.
