&#9679; Esther Unruh Schmidt, 89, of Montezuma, died Feb. 21 at Bethel Home for Aged, Newton. Funeral services were held Feb. 24 at the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Montezuma. Daniel Koehn and Ernest Koehn officiated. Additional services were held Feb. 25 at Eden Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Burns. Tobe J. Koehn and Alvin Koehn officiated. Burial was in the Eden Church cemetery, Burns. Survivors include two sons, Walter H. Koehn of Moundridge, and Lester R. Koehn of El Mirage, Ariz.; four daughters, Dorothy D. Becker of Galva, Martha E. Koehn of Montezuma, S. Marlene Koehn of Copeland and Twylah L. Schmidt of Grant, Neb.; one brother, Claude Unruh of Durham; 21 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Her first husband, Peter B. Koehn, preceded her in death in 19644. In 1969 she married Eli J. Schmidt. He died in 1981.

Daniel Koehn and Ernest Koehn officiated. Additional services were held Feb. 25 at Eden Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Burns. Tobe J. Koehn and Alvin Koehn officiated.
