He had been failing in health for the last several years. On September 14, 1930 he was stricken by a stroke of apoplexy. His right side was paralyzed and his speech was lost. He was glad, however, to see his many friends, who came to see him and tried to encourage him in the closing hours of his earthly life. | |||
He is survived by his wife Barbara Allgyre Yoder, four sons and three daughters, also 22 grandchildren and many friends. Jesse J. Yoder, living upon the old homestead, near Belleville; Samuel N. Yoder of Surrey, N. D., Christian G. Yoder of Hubbard, Oregon; and Thomas I. Yoder of Bayport, Michigan, (who attended his father's funeral), Another son died in infancy. The three daughters surviving are, Mrs. Jacob (Mollie) Hartzler; Mrs. Thomas (Sallie) Spleher and Mrs. Ezra (Cora) Hartzler, all residing near the parental home, Belleville. |

Israel T. Yoder was the son of Christian J. and Saloma (Zook) Yoder. He was born Nov. 10, 1854, died February 3, 1931 at his home on West Main Street, Belleville, aged 76 years, 2 months and 22 days.
He had been failing in health for the last several years. On September 14, 1930 he was stricken by a stroke of apoplexy. His right side was paralyzed and his speech was lost. He was glad, however, to see his many friends, who came to see him and tried to encourage him in the closing hours of his earthly life.
