A Veteran Gone

Rev. Jessie Lyman Hurlburt, D.D., died in Bloomfield, N. J., at the age of eighty-seven years. He was a clergyman of the Methodist Episcopal Church, the oldest member of Newark Conference. He was born, and spent most of his life in northern New Jersey. After serving some years as pastor, Dr. Hurlburt turned his attention to the work of promoting Bible study, and for many years, as executive and writer, did great work in that important department. He wrote many books, a "Child's Life of Jesus" being especially popular. The Christian world has been much blessed with his years of service.
