Mrs. Katie Poetker was born to Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hiebert on Aug. 5, 1881, and passed away Sept. 3, 1955, in Los Angeles County, Calif. hospital at the age of 74 years one month.  Memorial services were held at Whites Funeral Home Garden Chapel in Azusa, Calif. on Sept. 7.  Rev. Wayne Pendleton spoke on Psalm 21.
On Feb. 26, 1900, she was joined in holy matrimony with John Poetker.  The union lasted 54 years, seven months and nine days.
She became a member of the First Baptist church in Azusa about three years ago.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, John Poetker of Azusa; two sons, Claus of Houston, Texas, and Johnnie of Azusa; two daughters-in-law, three grandsons and one great-great grandson; two brothers, Peter M. Hiebert of Los Angeles and Henry M. Hiebert of Azusa; two sisters-in-law and many relatives and friends.
The Poetkers lived in and around Henderson, Neb. before moving to Azusa.
The family misses her much but in Christ Jesus we have the assurance of meeting again.

Mrs. Katie Poetker was born to Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hiebert on Aug. 5, 1881, and passed away Sept. 3, 1955, in Los Angeles County, Calif. hospital at the age of 74 years one month.
