Henry W. Claassen, 75, of North Newton, a member of the Bethel College board of directors and a retired teacher and school administrator, died Sept. 25. For 40 years he was an educator, teaching in Hillsboro and Wichita, before becoming an elementary school principal for USD 259. Services will be held Sept. 29 at Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton. Survivors include his wife, Meribeth; two sons, Victor of Davis, Calif., and Tom of Salina; two daughters, Margaret Toews of Tel Aviv, Israel, and Susan Jantzen of Newton; two brothers, Ernest and Art of Beatrice, Neb.; and nine grandchildren.

NEWTON & VICINITY

Henry W. Claassen, 75, of North Newton, a member of the Bethel College board of directors and a retired teacher and school administrator, died Sept. 25. For 40 years he was an educator, teaching in Hillsboro and Wichita, before becoming an elementary school principal for USD 259. Services will be held Sept. 29 at Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton. Survivors include his wife, Meribeth; two sons, Victor of Davis, Calif., and Tom of Salina; two daughters, Margaret Toews of Tel Aviv, Israel, and Susan Jantzen of Newton; two brothers, Ernest and Art of Beatrice, Neb.; and nine grandchildren.
