Benjamin R. Stucky was born at Eduardoff in the province of Wohlinia, Russia, Oct. 15, 1855, where he grew to young manhood.  April 9, 1872, he was baptized and united with the Mennonite Church.  In 1874 he came to this country, where with his parents and relatives he settled in McPherson County.  Here he lived the rest of his life.  As a young man he experienced the trials and difficulties of pioneer life, and the Lord blessed the labor of his hands, so that by diligence and frugality he could find a prosperous home.
 
April 7, 1880, he married Lena Goering, who was called from his side through death Dec. 3, 1922, after a blessed married life of over 42 years.  Nine children came into their home, all of whom survive both parents.  At the organization of the Eden Mennonite Church near Moundridge, deceased with his family joined this congregation and remained a faithful member of the same until the Lord called him into the church triumphant.
 
For about a year the departed one has been in ill health.  Different physicians were consulted, but they could only give relief.  Despite medical skill disease slowly robbed him of his vitality, and he realized that his days were numbered, but was prepared to leave this life.  he was bedfast only three days and suffered severe pain only the last day.  He passed awy peacefully March 8, 1927, at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 28 days.  &#8212; Moundridge Journal.

Benj. R. Stucky
