NEWTON & VICINITY
Ernest F. Bartel, 83, a retired farmer, died March 19 at Presbyterian Manor in Newton. He was a member of Grace Hill Mennonite Church, rural Whitewater. Survivors include his wife, Edna; two sons, Fred of Dodge City and Dean of Montgomery, Ala.; a daughter, Betty Frahm of Wichita; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
