— John Penner, aged 81 years, 4 months and 11 days, passed away at Bethel hospital Saturday morning at 12:30 o'clock. Mr. Penner had been a medical patient at the hospital about two months. He is survived by his widow and five children, Jacob Penner, Clinton, Okla., A. J. Penner, Highland township, Isaac Penner, Mrs. J. B. Schmidt and Mrs. L. O. Harms all of Pleasant township. Mr. Penner settled in Pleasant township in 1874, and hence was one of the pioneers and patriarchs of that section of the country.
