● Mrs. Martha E. Rutschman, 81, died Sept. 25 at the Bethel Home for Aged. She and her husband Julius, who died in 1972, formerly resided on East First Street. Funeral services were conducted Saturday forenoon at the Peterson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arnold Ensz, pastor of the Swiss Mennonite Church at Whitewater, officiating. Mrs. Rutschman was a member of that church. Survivors include two sons, Alvin of Wichita and Marvin of El Dorado; six daughters, Mrs. Bill Early of Canon City, Colo., Mrs. Gene Lettau, Mrs. Ronald Grapengater and Mrs. Elmer Unruh, all of Newton, Mrs. Bob Schenewerk of Wichita, and Mrs. Glennon Decker of Carrollton, Tex.; two brothers, Gilbert Wiens of Whitewater and Albert Wiens of Valley Center; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Hopkins of Benton, Mrs. Freda Rutschman of Wichita; and Mrs. Alice Atkinson of Whitewater; 30 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
