Joseph Horsch was born Nov. 1, 1900, at Gilmore City, Iowa, to Henry and Katherine Good Horsch, and died at the Mercy hospital, Urbana, Ill. at 8:45 p.m. on July 10. He had been ill in the hospital for three and one-half months.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 Sunday at the East Bend Mennonite church, Rev. Howard Zehr and Rev. Harold Zehr officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

He was married to Ruth Birky at Shickley, Neb. on Jan 12, 1926, and they moved to the Foosland, Ill. community.

Surviving are his wife; the following children, Donald of Fisher, Ill. Orville of Goodfellow air force base, Texas, Floyd, Joseph Jr., and Velma Jean at home; his mother, Mrs. Katherine Horsch; five sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Louise Augsburger of Fisher, Mrs. Lovina Schertz of Low Point, Mrs. Clara Zehr of Manson, Iowa, Mrs. Katie Kennell of Roanoke, Mrs. Elsie Birkey of Manson, Henry of Foosland and Ervin of Minier, Ill. There are many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, one sister, and a son.

He was a member of the East Bend Mennonite church and was faithful until death.
