— Death claimed a well-known retired businessman of the Bridgewater, S. D. community, David Hofer, on Jan. 26. He was born in Russia in 1870, coming to South Dakota in 1874. He was engaged in the furniture and undertaking business for 43 years, from 1904 to 1947. His wife, seven sons and two daughters survive. He was a member of the Bridgewater Mennonite church.
