RUTH GINGERICH

Ruth (Fretz) Gingerich, 78, died Nov. 20, 1999, at Chateau Gardens Care Home in Elmira, Ont. She was born March 19, 1921, to Joseph and Martha (Reesor) Fretz. She was a registered nurse after taking her training at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont.

In May 1948 she married Cyril K. Gingerich of Zurich, Ont. They spent a number of years in city mission work in the Toronto area. In 1960 they went to Nigeria with Mennonite Board of Missions and were there until 1968. They were divorced after several years.

She is survived by two brothers, John of Salem, Ore., and Walter of Vineland, Ont.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Cressman.

A memorial service was held at Tallman Mortuary, Vineland, Ont. Burial was in First Mennonite Church Cemetery, Vineland.
