Arnold E. Funk, 86, of North Newton, a retired Mennonite minister and North Newton city clerk, died July 24 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Newton. Funeral services were held July 27 at Bethel College Mennonite Church, with Darrell Fast and D. C. Wedel officiating. Burial was in Haven of Rest Cemetery, Hillsboro. He pastored churches in Kansas and Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Edna Ruth; two sons, Frederick of Viroqua, Wis., and Francis of Newton; three daughters, Marjorie Schroeder of Mt. Lake, Minn., Shirley Harms of Upland, Ind., and Barbara Reimer of Ft. Collins, Colo.; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson.
