● Funeral services for Irma (Richert) Duerksen, 84, of Goessel, were held Sept. 9 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, rural Goessel, with Dennis Schmidt officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She died Sept. 6 at Bethesda Home, Goessel. She was a homemaker, a member of Alexanderwohl’s King’s Daughters sewing circle and the Bethesda Auxiliary of Goessel. Survivors include two sons, A. Dennis of rural Hillsboro and Donley of rural Hillsboro; three daughters, Zenora Gard of Newton, Clareen Klassen of rural Moundridge and Joyce Unruh of rural Newton; three sisters, Alice Richert and Velda Duerksen, both of Goessel, and Jeanette Voth of rural Newton; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her husband, Albert, died in 1983. |
