Morton, Ill. Retired Farmer Dies at Age 84

Morton, Ill. – Funeral services for Joseph Eigsti, 84-year-old retired farmer, were held at the First Mennonite church here on Dec. 11.

Mr. Eigsti was a lifelong resident of this community, living his entire life in the rural home where he was born in 1879 to Christian and Elizabeth (Orendorff) Eigsti. He died Dec. 8 at the Hopedale hospital.

He was married to Lydia Kurtz at Metamora, Ill. in 1903, and she survives with their son, three daughters, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Alvin Bachman of Roanoke.
