Mr. Althaus was a former director of the Mid-West Electric Company of St. Mares, Ohio. He was a charter member of Farm Bureau Council No. 1, a member of the Mennonite Brotherhood Aid Society and of the Swiss Historical Society, serving on the committee to plan the coming Swiss Day observance here. | |||
He had served as treasurer and trustee of the Ebenezer Mennonite Church near Bluffton, where the funeral services were conducted May 14. | |||

Bluffton, Ohio. — William E. Althaus, 65, well known farmer of rural Columbus Grove and a life-long resident of this area, died at the Bluffton Community Hospital on May 11 after a week's illness.
Mr. Althaus was a former director of the Mid-West Electric Company of St. Mares, Ohio. He was a charter member of Farm Bureau Council No. 1, a member of the Mennonite Brotherhood Aid Society and of the Swiss Historical Society, serving on the committee to plan the coming Swiss Day observance here.
