• Mrs. Shelton Allen of Buhler, missionary on furlough from Japan, died early Tuesday at Bethel Deaconess Hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Allen was the former Arlene Friesen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Friesen of Buhler, and she and her husband had served two terms in Japan under the Far Eastern Gospel Crusade. The family returned home for furlough last summer. She leaves four children in addition to her husband and parents. Funeral services are to be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Buhler Mennonite Church.

NEWTON AND VICINITY

• Mrs. Shelton Allen of Buhler, missionary on furlough from Japan, died early Tuesday at Bethel Deaconess Hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Allen was the former Arlene Friesen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Friesen of Buhler, and she and her husband had served two terms in Japan under the Far Eastern Gospel Crusade.
