FRED A. STRAUSS
Fred A. Strauss of Hepburn, Sask. passed away on October 11. He was born to John F. and Margaret (Flaming) Strauss on August 18, 1893 in Eldorado, Butler County, Kansas. His family moved to Saskatchewan in 1900, settling first in Brotherfield and then near Hepburn. In his teens he accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour and was baptized into the Hepburn MB Church at age 21. In 1914 he homesteaded a quarter section. On June 27,1920 he married Nettie Loewen. He continued to farm till he was 86. Sixteen months ago he mov-ed into Hepburn, where he became active in town life. He was predeceased by his first son, Alvin. He is survived by his wife Nettie; two daughters, three sons and spouses: Evelyn and Ernest Schmidt, Arlene and Robert Peters, Ervin and Jean, Gilbert and Olga, and Dennis and Judy; 12 grand- children, seven great-grandchildren, one sister and three brothers. The funeral was held October 15 in the Hepburn MB Church, with pastor John Klassen, and R.M. Baerg, officiating.
