ALBERTINA HIEBERT

Albertina Hiebert died Sept. 17, 2007. She was born Mar. 29, 1903 to Albert and Emilie Karlenzig. As a teenager she worked hard on the farm close to Plum Coulee, Man ., and was baptized upon confession of faith at Morris German Baptist Church. At 19 she married David M. Hiebert and began farming. She was a diligent homemaker, loved reading, playing Scrabble, and enjoyed crafts-embroidery, knitting, patchwork, quilting, and crocheting. On her Singer treadle machine she sewed many outfits for her children. Albertina and David later joined an MB church, serving as a deacon couple and frequently opening their humble home to visiting ministers and evangelists. She is mourned by children Irene, Viola (Jake) Peters, Elva (Alex) Suderman, and Wesley (Sharon); 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
