KATHARINA (KATIE) HOOGE

Katie Hooge died March 30. She was born in Terek, Russia, to Johann and Judy Dahl. In 1925 the family immigrated to Saskatchewan, then moved to Yarrow, B.C. in 1928. She found forgiveness and inner peace in Jesus and was baptized Aug. 9,1931 in Yarrow MB Church. She married John P. Hooge Oct. 24, 1935. They had a dairy farm in Sardis, B.C. and were members of Greendale MB Church. Katie's life was full and courageous, and her generous, loving ways touched many lives. Her husband John, with whom she shared joys and sorrows for 71 years, followed her in death May 15. She is mourned by children John (Ruth), Gordon (Sandy), Benjamin, Blondina Enns, Victor (Linda), Bruno (Lorraine) Clarence (Susan); 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter. The celebration of life service was April 11 at Greendale MB Church.
