• Herman Pjesky, 74, retired carpenter of Halstead, died May 13 at the Halstead Nursing Center. He was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Halstead, where the funeral was conducted Thursday afternoon by the pastor, Rev. Robert Suderman. Mr. Pjesky was born at Moundridge and married Alvina Becker at Newton in 1928. She survives along with four daughters, Mrs. Elmer J. Koehn of Newton, Mrs. Joseph Torricelli and Mrs. Sven Andreasson, both of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Donald Haury of Whitewater; three brothers, Reinhold, August and John all of Halstead; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Smith of Wichita, Mrs. Helene Smith of Halstead, and Mrs. Augusta Carson of Torrence, Calif.; and five grandchildren. | |||
