Lawrence Neufeld died Sept 24. He was born Sept. 23, 1909 to Isaac and Aganetha Neufeldt near Waldheim, Sask. The early death of his mother made a significant impact on him, but Lawrence grew to appreciate his step-mother. At 20, Lawrence's cousin led him to faith in Jesus Christ. In 1930 he was baptized and joined the Waldheim MB Church. In April 1935 he married the love of his life, Anna Schultz. Lawrence was an innovative and progressive farmer, keenly interested in experimenting with new crops and methods of cultivation. He had a deep and enduring faith in God that found expression in practical ways. He was active in his church as a board member and he also served on the board of directors at Bethany Bible Institute. He prayed faithfully for missionaries, gave generously and wrote them regularly to express his encouragement. Predeceased by 1 brother; 2 sisters; he is mourned by Ann; children Myrl (Merv) Driedger, Deanna (Jim) Peters and Wendell (Penny) Neufeld; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.
