Well Known Ontario Education Dies After Seven-Month Illness
Kitchener, Ont. — A public memorial service for Dr. Norman H. High, 61, well-known Ontario educator, was held Dec. 15 at the University of Waterloo Theatre of the Arts.
Dr. High died Dec. 4 in a Toronto hospital after a seven-month illness. A family service was held at the First Mennonite Church, Vineland.
Dr. High served as a professor and administrator at the Ontario Agricultural College of the University of Guelph for 15 years. In 1961 he joined the faculty of the University of Waterloo where he was dean of arts from 1961 to 1967. He continued as a professor in the department of sociology and anthropology, and later spent two years with the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, Toronto.
