The will of the late Lyndon P. Deckert, Burdett, provided that Bethel College share in his estate.  Settlement recently resulted in a $9,898.45 gift to Bethel College.

Deckert was a 1920 graduate of the Bethel Academy and received his B.A. degree here in 1926.  In recent years a number of his nieces and nephews also attended Bethel, as had several of his brothers and sisters earlier.
 
A bachelor, Deckert had farmed in the Burdett area for many years.  He was a member of the Bergtal Mennonite Church at Pawnee Rock and had a lifetime interest in the church and its agencies including the colleges.
 
"As a graduate of Bethel, Mr. Deckert continued through his life to see the value of a church college," stated president Harold Schultz.  "His will reflected this interest and this gift to Bethel will be a permanent memorial to his life and interest in Christian education."

Estate Gift Received

The will of the late Lyndon P. Deckert, Burdett, provided that Bethel College share in his estate. Settlement recently resulted in a $9,898.45 gift to Bethel College. . Deckert was a 1920 graduate of the Bethel Academy and received his B.A. degree here in 1926.
