JOHN NICKEL

John Nickel died May 29. He was born Mar. 7, 1921 in Dalmeny, Sask. to Jacob P. and Susannah Nickel. He was fascinated by machinery, was an avid reader of history, sciences and religion and took a course in electronics. He became a Christian in March 1939 and was baptized several years later in the North Saskatchewan River by Henry J. Baerg, joining Dalmeny MB Church. He attended Dalmeny Bible School The family moved to Clearbrook B.C in 1947, where he worked at seasonal jobs in canneries and at picking fruit and hops. Later he and his sisters were custodians for MEl and Columbia Bible Institute in Abbotsford. He also worked at Sardis army base and Abbotsford air base.
