Alvin B. Springer, son of Val and Katie (Litwiller) Springer, was born at Hopedale, Ill. on Feb. 16, 1894; died at Hopedale Medical Complex on Feb. 19, 1974, aged 80 years.
 
On Jan. 11, 1916, he was married to Emma Kauffman, who survives.  Also surviving are seven sons, Paul, Marvin, Carroll, Mahlon, Orval, Elmo, and Dick; three daughters, Verna, Mrs. Orval Shoemaker, Ethel, Mrs. Chester Sommer, and Kathryn, Mrs. Glenn, Burmeister; 32 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three brothers, Aaron, Menno and Homer; and two sisters, Clara, Mrs. Roy Unsicker, and Ruth, Mrs. Harold Zehr.  He was preceded in death by two grandchildren and two sisters.
 
He was a member of Hopedale Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Feb. 22, in charge of Lee J. Miller; interment in Hopedale Mennonite Cemetery.

ALVIN B. SPRINGER

Alvin B. Springer, son of Val and Katie (Litwiller) Springer, was born at Hopedale, Ill. on Feb. 16, 1894; died at Hopedale Medical Complex on Feb. 19, 1974, aged 80 years.
