• Funeral services were held Monday forenoon at the First Mennonite church of Hillsboro for Peter Schroeder, 76, a retired farmer and lifelong resident of the Hillsboro community. Mr. Schroeder died at Hillsboro on March 28 after a long illness. Survivors include his widow, Martha; three daughters, Mrs. John Sills of Newton, Mrs. Lloyd Vogt of Valley Center, and Mrs. Virgil Sidener of Wichita; five sons, Roy and Clarence, both of Newton, Earl of Benton, Harold of Wichita, and James of Hillsboro; a step-son, Billy Meier of Hillsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Emelia Bartel and Mrs. Anna Unruh, both of Hesston; a brother, Paul, of California; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandson. | |||
