Kalona, Iowa. — Rev. Daniel J. Fisher, who served in the ministry at the East Union Mennonite Church near here for nearly 50 years, died Dec. 7 at the Pleasantview Home at the age of 92.
 
A native of this community, Rev. Fisher was ordained to the ministry in 1907 and to the office of bishop in 1929. He was a former moderator of the Iowa-Nebraska Mennonite Conference.
 
Funeral services were held at the Kalona Mennonite Church on Dec. 9, with Rev. Carl Smeltzer in charge.
 
Survivors include his widow, three sons, six daughters, 35 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Long-Time Bishop Of Iowa Congregation Dies at Age 92

Kalona, Iowa. — Rev. Daniel J. Fisher, who served in the ministry at the East Union Mennonite Church near here for nearly 50 years, died Dec. 7 at the Pleasantview Home at the age of 92.

A native of this community, Rev. Fisher was ordained to the ministry in 1907 and to the office of bishop in 1929. He was a former moderator of the Iowa-Nebraska Mennonite Conference.
