ERNA GUENTHER
Erna Guenther died Sept. 5. She was born May 21, 1910 to J.B. Hooges in Plum Coulee, Man. Her parents ran the Old Folks Home and a boys' dormitory. She married Jacob A. Guenther Oct. 31, 1928. They had several family businesses, the final one being Hooge Cleaners. They were members of Winkler MB Church and served on many committees. Their faith in Jesus Christ was important to them. She was often ill. She loved music, singing in choirs and groups. She enjoyed reading. She was creative and loved decorating her home, particularly for Christmas. She was a skilful seamstress and taught sewing in the Winkler high school. During retirement they travelled to Desert Hot Springs, CaL, Florida, Mexico, Hawaii and Europe. They moved to Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home, Winnipeg. She was predeceased by Jake and son Morley. She is mourned by family and friends.
